To keep the magic of LARAEC ROCS! going throughout the year, join your hosts Justin and Michele at our lunch time series. Sessions are selected for general interest, support of remote instruction and learning,  curriculum, student support services, or educational research. Upcoming topics are included below.

ESL Learner Persistence. Best Practices from 8 Teachers with High Persistence Rates

Session Highlights:

In this session, presenters will share best practices from 8 teachers with high persistence rates in low-level ESL classes during the COVID-19 transition to online instruction. 

 

Presenter Bio: Francisco Narciso

Francisco is and IET Teacher Advisor for LAUSD’s Division of Adult and Career Education. He has enjoyed supporting and teaching ESL for over 20 years. His best for working-from-home is to celebrate often. 

Presenter Bio: Wendy Heard

Wendy Heard serves as LAUSD’s DACE Blended Learning Advisor and has worked at both Burbank USD and LAUYSD in adult education and blended learning. She earned the APEX Learning Award of Excellence in Blended Learning Programs and is committed to providing the highest quality programs to adult learners in the Los Angeles area.
